The Designer Forum has been set up within EMTEX to provide a variety of business & design support.

IT for Business

The Emtex projects have been developed to help companies develop their businesses, enter new markets, and adopt new technologies and practices. Across all Emtex divisions we aim to provide assistance in the areas that are needed, and help East Midland based companies with the most appropriate support that encourages business improvement.

Emtex currently have a number of projects available to members within the Objective 2 Area (The eligible area is defined by the European Union, to find out more about Objective 2 click here). Please go to the GOEM website to check your eligibility by postcode:www.go-em.gov.uk

To access any of the projects you need to be an SME- A Small/Medium Size Enterprise - Employing fewer than 250 people, with an annual turnover of less than 40 million Euros, with no more than 25% of the enterprise owned by a non-SME, and having not received more than £130,000 in De Minimis aid over the last 3 years.

Win:init2oo2 ERDF Objective 2 — This project provides support for: sales and marketing using ICT, including website design & development, e-commerce solutions, exhibitions, promotion literature, computer hardware and software. Please see Win:init2oo2 for more details.

Business ICT Bureau ERDF Objective 2 — Aims to improve operational efficiency through technology and technical innovation. Support in introducing new ICT developments to improve accounting, costing and budgetary control systems, and electronic communications, emphasising the benefits of broadband. Global Trading ERDF Objective 2 — Developed to help businesses at all levels to access and reach worldwide products and markets, complementing their existing production, thus generating new sales and supporting the creation and safeguarding of employment. Invact — ERDF/SP Objective 2 – Offers Loans and/or grants for established SMEs and new business start ups.  If you are diversifying or investing in new activities/equipment or looking to set up your own business please contact us prior to placing any orders. Please see Invact for more details.

LCBN - ESF Objective 2 Leicester Only - Offers free accredited and non accredited training to support employed individuals within SMEs of the 10 wards of Leicester to increase their skills, this includes IT, PMO, Business Improvement Techniques, Customer Service, ITQ2 (and above) and many more. Future Industry ERDF Objective 2 — Help through hands-on support and specialist assistance for existing and new companies, through 1:1 mentoring, feasibility studies, business workshops and incubator / technology provision. Specialist areas covered will include: design, production, sales and marketing, and finance / funding, as well as general areas such as negotiating skills and time management etc. Please see Future Industry for more details.

The Business Space — Has studio facilities for up to 22 clothing and textile companies and new business start-ups, including free access to the latest internet technology and sampling equipment. These facilities are available at a very low cost. Please see The Business Space for more details.
