New Development Initative

This project closed on 31st October 2007 a summary of the final report will appear here shortly.

The New Development Initiative project was developed through the Designer Forum, as part of EMTEX Ltd.

Aimed at supporting small to medium sized businesses within the East Midlands Objective 2 area through a flexible support package to assist companies to capitalise on new markets, adopt new design technology and working practices.


Assistance is available within:

# Sample & prototype costs involved in creating own branded label collections and product development

# Research & development involved in diversifying into new markets

# Access to specialist support to enable companies to become design-led and manage the production process

# Assistance with the adoption of CAD / new technology & equipment and remote working practices.

# Provide links with & a database facility of HE / FE, research institutions and commercial businesses offering product development services to aid the adoption of R&D techniques.

Support is available from the 8th October 2002 to 31st October 2007 for eligible SMEs within the ERDF Objective 2 area that will create new & additional employment or safeguard existing jobs by accessing this initiative.
