The Designer Forum has been set up within EMTEX to provide a variety of business & design support.

Sustainability Talk by Sustainability Special interest Group/Textile Institute

Thursday 2nd June, Emtex Designer Forum 69-73 Lower Parliament Street, Nottingham NG1 3BB, commencing at 6.30pm

Every two weeks in June the Sustainability SIG will be highlighting different aspects of sustainability, bringing together speakers from different sector areas. Each event will consist of two speakers and will take place in a different town or city.

The first event will bring you an up-date of the UK Government’s Sustainable Clothing Roadmap presented by WRAP, and through a presentation titled ‘Sustainability Trends within Fashion: The emerging need to know more..’ MADE-BY will cover the desire for transparency and the need to manage risks - understanding what all the social codes and certificates mean and how MADE-BY work with brands to take a holistic step-by-step approach to sustainability. Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) is a very successful business improvement programme which is of particularly interest to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) as they attract 67% government subsidy of project costs. AW 2012 Trend Event: Stylesight presents...

One focuses on megatrends for AW12 to trigger key ideas throughout the design development cycle, and the other looking at materials trends and innovations that will impact future design thinking.
