Officially launched on the 8th February 2002 by the Right Honourable Patricia Hewitt, MP Secretary of State for Trade & Industry, LENCAT is the sister organisation to the very successful trade association NADCAT and operates under the umbrella organisation EMTEX Ltd.

Offering support and advice to Leicestershire and Northamptonshire clothing & textiles companies, in a similar way that NADCAT has over the past 7 years, LENCAT has already received over 200+ members since its inception in October 2001.

Built on a strong partnership with existing trade bodies and support organisations, LENCAT's partners consist of The Knitting Industries Federation (KIF), Hinckley & District Knitting Industry Association (HADKIA) and the Leicestershire Asian Business Association (LABA), which offer joint & reciprocal membership to the sector's manufacturers.

This significant amalgamation has consolidated the clothing & textile support for the whole of the East Midlands and will allow the combined strengths and a unified approach for the sector.

EMTEX will be the parent organisation operating the 2 divisions, LENCAT & NADCAT. Each will have board members made up of industrialists sitting on the main EMTEX board.

EMTEX is always looking for new projects and funding initiatives to support its member companies, for full details of projects available to EMTEX members via LENCAT, see the 'projects section' of this website.
