SECTOR IMPORTANCE
Within the East Midlands, there are 2300 Clothing & Textile companies that, between them, employ over 85,000 people. It is the largest clothing & textiles region in the UK & Europe.
EMTEX (formerly Nadcat) was established in February 1994, to assist the region’s clothing & textiles businesses to face the challenges of a rapidly changing industry. Here to help individual designers through to established businesses EMTEX is a premier industry trade association for the clothing and textiles sector.

Since our launch, we have gained the reputation as the leading support organisation for the Clothing & Textiles industry.
We offer support to the sector through a number of UK & European funded projects together with a range of core services that are delivered by our team of specialists who will give you the maximum assistance possible.
EMTEX helps generate new business for the region and assists companies to introduce new technologies and working practices. We also aid Clothing & Textile manufacturers to develop trade within the global marketplace.
