TAX SAVING - 100% first-year Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA)

The Government is offering an incentive to businesses who are prepared to invest in certain types of energy saving equipment. The Standard Capital Allowance scheme allows 20% of the capital costs to be offset in each financial year, whereas, the ECA will allow the whole amount  as a deduction in year one, thereby improving your cash flow by reducing The Corporation Tax liability.

The Employment Rights Act 1996 requires employers to provide most employees, within two calendar months of starting work, with a written statement of the main terms of the contract.  Writing down the main terms of the contract can minimise disagreements that could occur later.

EMTEX submit 3 bids to provide support to the Materials sectors.

EMTEX have submitted 3 bids totalling just over £800k grant into the first round of funding under the new ERDF Competitiveness Programme, Priority Axis 1.  They are all connected and will provide valuable support to the Materials sectors of the East Midlands.  We have got past the first stage of the application process and should know the outcomes towards the end of August.

EMTEX goes Green!

From 1 July 2008, EMTEX will send out all invoices by email where possible rather than in the post. This will help to reduce our costs enabling us to keep our membership fees low and help the environment at the same time. If anyone should require a hard copy of an invoice to be posted this may be requested and will be actioned by the accounts team.

EMTEX Limited are setting up a textile recruitment service for machinists, outworkers, warehouse staff, mechanics and unskilled office workers, etc. This service will be available to individuals, members and non-member companies. The service will work by the individual or company completing an advertisement template, which then gets placed on the recruitment section of the EMTEX website. This recruitment section will also have a link from EMTEX’s monthly ENEWS (electronic newsletter). Adverts will be placed under the headings of Jobs Available and Jobs Required. Adverts will be placed on the website for up to 2 months.
